As this incredible year comes to a close, we are rapidly approaching what some would consider the most highly anticipated movie ever.
Over 22 years ago, in 1982, we were first sucked to the Grid, rode lightcycles, flew Solar Sailers, and faced off against the Master Control Program.
Now, it’s time to grab your identity discs and get ready to go back to where it all started.
Date: Tuesday, December 14th
Time: 7:00pm
Location: Regal Sawgrass IMAX (yes, you read that right)
This is the final #geekviewpreview of 2010 and it has been over 3 months in the making.
You honestly have no idea how much has gone into arranging us to get these extremely rare tickets.
For those of you who have never been to a #geekviewpreview, you are in for a real treat IF you get there early.
Like each sneak preview previously, no seat is guaranteed and they are first come, first serve.
Just to give you an example of how determined people are to get into these showings:
For “The Social Network”, the line started at 4:00pm for the 7:00pm show.
For MegaMind, it was worse, with people lining up starting around 3.
For Harry Potter, the line actually started at 10:00am and was at least 50 people deep by 4:00pm for a 7:30pm show. Eventually, the line stretched the length of the AMC Aventura at least 3 times and filled 2 theaters.
So if you’re chosen, be prepared to get there early and stand in line (just like a Disney ride smack in the middle of the summer).
By now, you’re probably asking yourselves, just how will **I** be chosen. Well, that’s actually a good question.
It would seem that ever since I teased this announcement on Twitter, it has already gained quite the interest:
For your faithful following of my Twitter feed, prompt responses, and amusing conversation, you’re all in. Congrats.
@highguyz
For your prompt responses on Facebook and your enjoyable company at the previous #geekviewpreviews, you will get to join us too.
Now, unlike the previous showings, these are not 2 for 1 passes. If you get chosen, it’s you and you alone. Don’t worry about not knowing anyone because we’re an awesome group of people and we always have tons of fun. I just need to make this restriction so that the most people can go who’ve never been to one of our #geekviewpreview before.
So now comes the free-for-all for the 5 remaining tickets.
Log in using your Facebook or Twitter account below and leave a comment telling me why you think you should be chosen to go.
Extra consideration will be given to those who talk about any of the following:
the first time time you saw the original TRON
what you remember most about the original TRON
what about the original TRON inspired you
what you thought was the geekiest moment (or dialog) in the original TRON for its time and why it stands out or its cultural significance
links to photos that display or demonstrate your devotion to all things TRON
more ideas/suggestions to come as I think of them…..
Don’t rush into this. Take your time. Please be as detailed or specific as possible. The better the story, the more likely you’re going to be in the running.
The deadline for entry is 10:00 pm ESTFriday night, December 10th.
Winners will be announced Sunday night, December 12th.
Note: You can also improve your chances of being chosen by tweeting the following link (http://bit.ly/gamsJQ) to this blog post and/or by using any of the following #hashtags between now and the deadline:

This next winner caught my attention with their most recent tweet, getting their entry in just under the wire. @SIK3333, that’s right, you won the next pair of tickets, but you better be wearing this tomorrow.
@sfsocialgeeks Did you know I bought Hufflepuff robes yesterday for the premier? Can’t wait to see DH http://bit.ly/bHnhgj #geekviewpreview
I’ve kind of purposefully dragged this announcement on before getting to this person because they seem to be the most anxious out of all of our entries. They definitely sent the most tweets and completely carpet bombed us. Yes, that’s right. I’m talking about you Hilary Klein (aka @hrk85). You and @sethgrossmayer have won yourselves tickets to the #geekviewpreview tomorrow. But, you better bring enough Butterbeer for all of us.
The sixth, and final, pair of tickets have been won by a guy who’s first #geekviewpreview turned out to be a huge dud; so hopefully this will make up for #skyline. Congrats to @kevincramsay.
@sflsocialgeeks I’m pretty sure this is a winning entry for the #geekviewpreview of the new Harry Potter. More Info – http://bit.ly/bHnhgj
Sorry to those of you who didn’t win, but be sure to follow our Twitter feed for more #geekviewpreview showings.
Once again, congratulations to you all and I look forward to seeing you tomorrow night.
That’s right, the next #geekview preview is going to be a doozy.
