Ladies and Gentlemen, fellow geeks.
As this incredible year comes to a close, we are rapidly approaching what some would consider the most highly anticipated movie ever.
Over 22 years ago, in 1982, we were first sucked to the Grid, rode lightcycles, flew Solar Sailers, and faced off against the Master Control Program.
Now, it’s time to grab your identity discs and get ready to go back to where it all started.
- Date: Tuesday, December 14th
- Time: 7:00pm
- Location: Regal Sawgrass IMAX (yes, you read that right)
This is the final #geekviewpreview of 2010 and it has been over 3 months in the making.
You honestly have no idea how much has gone into arranging us to get these extremely rare tickets.
For those of you who have never been to a #geekviewpreview, you are in for a real treat IF you get there early.
Like each sneak preview previously, no seat is guaranteed and they are first come, first serve.
Just to give you an example of how determined people are to get into these showings:
For “The Social Network”, the line started at 4:00pm for the 7:00pm show.
For MegaMind, it was worse, with people lining up starting around 3.
For Harry Potter, the line actually started at 10:00am and was at least 50 people deep by 4:00pm for a 7:30pm show. Eventually, the line stretched the length of the AMC Aventura at least 3 times and filled 2 theaters.
So if you’re chosen, be prepared to get there early and stand in line (just like a Disney ride smack in the middle of the summer).
By now, you’re probably asking yourselves, just how will **I** be chosen. Well, that’s actually a good question.
It would seem that ever since I teased this announcement on Twitter, it has already gained quite the interest:

For your prompt responses on Facebook and your enjoyable company at the previous #geekviewpreviews, you will get to join us too.
Now, unlike the previous showings, these are not 2 for 1 passes. If you get chosen, it’s you and you alone. Don’t worry about not knowing anyone because we’re an awesome group of people and we always have tons of fun. I just need to make this restriction so that the most people can go who’ve never been to one of our #geekviewpreview before.
So now comes the free-for-all for the 5 remaining tickets.
- the first time time you saw the original TRON
- what you remember most about the original TRON
- what about the original TRON inspired you
- what you thought was the geekiest moment (or dialog) in the original TRON for its time and why it stands out or its cultural significance
- links to photos that display or demonstrate your devotion to all things TRON
- more ideas/suggestions to come as I think of them…..
- #geekviewpreview
- #gvp

Good luck.
End of Line…..
