Cinema Paradiso

503 SE 6th St
Fort Lauderdale, FL 33301

Just a couple of final notes/reminders for those of you who are going this Friday night.

  • Do NOT bring your own props/prop bag. The theater has their own set of rules for what is, and is not allowed, and they’ve worked extremely hard to put their own custom prop bags together.  So be nice and cough up the $5.
  • DO plan on drinking.  Cinema Paradiso has a Wine and Beer license and sells alcohol throughout the evening.; but bring $$$ as it is costly.
  • Remember, this is NOT a large movie chain.  Cinema Paradiso is the only art movie theater here in Broward County and continues to see its budget constantly slashed.  This performance is not just for our entertainment, but also to help support the theater.  Even though it may seem cheaper to bring your own drinks, snacks, etc, please don’t try to sneak them in.  Lots of the people that do their work here are volunteers, so please, help support our local arts.
  • Don’t be ashamed to admit that you’re a virgin if you’ve never seen Rocky live before.  The first time is always the best.
  • Don’t forget that we are the “Social Geeks”.  Even though the show starts around midnight, that doesn’t mean our night should.  Right next to Cinema Paradiso is an outdoor patio complete with tables and chairs to chillax.  Try and get there around 10:30ish so we can socialize and meet each other before showtime.
  • Be prepared to stand in line.  Rocky always brings out the best “rich weirdos” so there is always a line to get in prior to showtime.  If you get there early and socialize with us, you might be pleasantly rewarded, but you won’t know till you get there.
  • Finally, don’t be embarrassed to dress up.  We’re all rich weirdos on Rocky night.  In fact, while I can’t guarantee anything, you might even get rewarded for it.
